A little about Me

About Me Islander Mom Life

Hello! Delighted to have you here.

If you’re an ambitious mom who feels lost, overwhelmed, or quietly carrying the emotional weight of motherhood, you’ve found a space where you don’t have to pretend everything is okay.

I created IslanderMomLife because I know what it feels like to lose touch with yourself while trying to be everything your family needs. And I believe finding yourself again starts with taking care of the woman behind “Mom.”

For me, self-care became the foundation of that journey—not simply taking a break or doing something nice for myself, but learning to listen to my needs, care for my mind and body, create emotional safety, and give myself the space to heal.

And from that space, something started to change. I began reconnecting with myself, rebuilding my confidence, and remembering the dreams and parts of me I had pushed aside.

I don’t believe in perfection or quick fixes. I talk honestly about the realities of motherhood—the overwhelm, the identity shifts, the burnout, and the struggles we don’t always talk about. But I also believe that small, intentional changes can help us slowly find our way back to ourselves.

This isn’t about becoming the woman you were before motherhood.

It’s about becoming the woman you’re meant to be now without losing yourself in the process.

You don’t have to choose between being a devoted mother and being a woman with dreams, needs, and a life of your own. You can love motherhood deeply while still making space for the woman you are beyond it.

Who Am I?

Before motherhood, I spent nearly a decade building a career and pursuing my passions. I worked in the corporate world before following my love for cooking, attending culinary school, and starting a small food business.

Life felt full of possibilities, until motherhood changed everything.

After my first daughter was born, I quietly struggled with postpartum depression, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and identity loss. I went through my days on autopilot, trying to hold everything together while slowly losing touch with myself.

Months before the pandemic, our family moved to a remote island. When lockdowns began, the isolation became even heavier. By the time my second child arrived, I was still carrying years of unresolved emotional weight.

I felt lost mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and stuck in survival mode, and I reacted in ways that didn’t help me.

Like many mothers, I kept it all to myself. Until one day, I couldn’t anymore.

I didn’t need fixing. I needed support. I needed to feel safe again.

That’s when my self-care journey began.

Not the glamorous kind, but the slow, imperfect, soul-searching kind.

Through holistic self-care, I began supporting my mental health. As my mental health improved, I started creating emotional safety within myself. From that safety came healing, and through healing, I slowly began rebuilding my confidence, reconnecting with myself, and finding my way back to the dreams and ambitions that motherhood had buried beneath the overwhelm.

The journey wasn’t easy, and it’s still ongoing. I’m still learning, still growing, still becoming.

That’s why I share my story, not because I have everything figured out, but because I know how lonely motherhood can feel when you’re struggling in silence. No mom has to feel as alone as I once did.

What Is Islander Mom life All About

What is IslanderMomLife all about?

IslanderMomLife is a space for ambitious moms who love motherhood but don’t want to lose themselves in it.

It’s for the moms carrying invisible burdens. The moms questioning who they are now. The moms wondering if they’ll ever feel like themselves again.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Honest motherhood stories—the messy, the heavy, and the healing moments in between
  • Holistic self-care that supports your mental health, emotional well-being, and personal growth
  • Gentle mindset shifts that help you move from survival to self-connection
  • Encouragement to reclaim your identity, rebuild your confidence, and rediscover your dreams
  • A safe, supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and less alone

I created IslanderMomLife because it’s the space I desperately needed when I first became a mom.

A place that reminded me I wasn’t broken, that my needs mattered too, and that motherhood is part of my identity, not my entire identity.

Why Follow Islander Mom Life

Why should you follow IslanderMomLife?

Because this isn’t just about finding time for yourself.

It’s about finding your way back to yourself.

I believe holistic self-care is the foundation for that journey. When you begin caring for your mind, body, and spirit, you create space to listen to yourself, understand what you need, and begin healing.

And from there, you can start to reconnect with the woman behind “Mom”—your confidence, your dreams, your ambitions, and the parts of yourself you may have pushed aside.

Here, we talk honestly about the realities of motherhood: the overwhelm, the identity shifts, the burnout, the emotional struggles, and the things we don’t always say out loud.

You’ll also find practical self-care tools, gentle mindset shifts, and encouragement to help you move from simply surviving motherhood to feeling more connected to yourself within it.

I hold a degree in Psychology and have completed training in self-care, but I’m not a therapist.

I’m simply a mom sharing what I’ve experienced, what I’ve learned, and the things that have helped me navigate motherhood with more awareness, intention, and self-compassion.

So stay awhile.

Come for the honest conversations.
Stay for the encouragement and practical tools.
And hopefully, leave with a little more clarity about who you are, what you need, and what still matters to you.

Because you don’t have to choose between being a devoted mother and being a woman with dreams, needs, and a life of your own.

You can make room for both.

Mama, welcome to IslanderMomLife.
